YOUNG ARTIST

Imagine, Create, Enjoy

'Young Artist' Young Artist is a unique art program designed to involve children in the creative process while developing observation skills. The course seamlessly integrates all components of adequate art education by engaging students in building a visual vocabulary and using critical thinking skills to explore creativity, art history, art appreciation, and art techniques using real art materials and tools. Students love the inviting, full-color art lessons that teach both expressive and technical aspects of art while allowing them to choose what and how they will draw and paint.

The Young Artist Program presents both the expressive and technical aspects of art in an age-appropriate manner. Children are curious and explicit from the start. We work with those interests to teach them to observe more closely. Skills develop as each child follows nature and enjoys the process of creating. Creating truly personal work gives a child a sense of accomplishment that cannot be attained by copying from a book or watching an adult do it for him. They learn because direct observation is the best teacher when accompanied by an understanding of the foundational elements of art and compositional ideas.
